THE JIM SMITH INTERVIEW
By Robyn Byrd
Jim and Cartoons

RB: When did you first discover your love for cartoons?

JS: Well I really loved comic books when I was a kid. All through grade school and junior high. I was into Marvel Comics real heavily. I wanted to draw comics for Marvel real bad. I guess I was into cartoons before that, but junior high was when I actually started thinking about drawing them.

RB: So what were your favorites as a boy?

JS: Well I was just really into all Marvel comics. Fantastic Four, Captain America, goofy stuff too. Superhero stuff was probably my favorite. I was reading Bugs Bunny and other Warner Brothers stuff too though.
